Macross - Perfect Memory

Here's the first of the Macross books sent to me by Boinger from Macrossworld.
This book is a pretty comprehensive look at the SDF Macross series including sections on each episode, character and mechanical designs and more. A very cool book.
There is a poster that original comes with this book, there was no copy of it available so I included the best image of it I could.

Note- This is a pretty massive book. Even reducing the file size and image quality it's still over 600mb in size when uncompressed.

Happy Holidays!

I just wanted to wish everyone a happy holidays!

I should be able to get the copy of Macross Perfect Memory done by the end of the year.

Variable Fighter Master File - VF-19 Excalibur

Sorry for the long wait time for updates, should be picking up now.

This book is pretty cool, covers development of the YF/VF-19 and all special iterations of the project. It would be a great source for anyone modeling a VF-19 or anyone who's a fan of Macross.

Archive Scans's 3rd Birthday Drawing

I've just sent out emails to the lucky ones who were picked to receive the prints! To those who didn't receive an email I wish I could send to everyone but these things are kinda expensive. I'm going to try to do something like this every year from now on (well, as long as the site is running) so enter/participate next year and good luck!

If I get replies from everyone I'll do my best to send everything out on Friday next week.

Status / Drawing

EDIT- THE DRAWING HAS BEEN MADE

Sorry 'bout the lag in posts. I've been unusually busy with work/family/new games.

I'll be drawing the 3 winners from the emails I've received this week then, hopefully, sending them off late next week.

As to books; I've got a couple new books on the way as well as the Pern books and a few others that I may scan just for completeness' sake.

Later!

Happy Birthday!

I didn't miss the anniversary of the opening of the site this year, yay! We've not had more than a (relatively minor) interruption with media hosting. For a hobby project I consider that pretty good!

First off I'd like to thank Falldog at Otaku Revolution for graciously providing massive amounts of great hosting to me. It's never gone down and always seems to be quite snappy.

Next I'd like to thank all the people who've sent in books and other content; a few incredible publications have come up seemingly from nowhere thanks to these great people.

Lastly, all of the people who've posted comments, emailed me or spread word about the site. Without you all I'd have lost the motivation to keep this place going long, long ago.

Here's to the years, and books, ahead!

-To business

Regarding the drawing, I've only gotten 6 or so emails so far. Come on, email me at drawing.archivescans@gmail.com and enter the drawing! (see comments for details)

Also, according to the poll I had up there is some interest in the 3 Pern books I've got: Atlas of Pern, Dragonrider's Guide to Pern and People of Pern. The first two are in very poor shape though. Questions or comments welcome.

As to the current scan queue, I'm pretty low on fresh books right now, save for about 3 or so, this means rescans will be more common and this will likely be the focus of another poll soon.

I've been asked about donations as well. I've never set anything up to this point, don't send money to anyone without emailing me, I don't want your money disappearing. Since I don't really have any costs associated with the site (save for the books themselves) I'm not quite sure how to go about this. Again, questions or comments welcome.

Yay text!

Archive Scans's 3rd Birthday Drawing

Hey there everyone! archive-scans' birthday is coming up on the 18th of October and I've decided to do something special, a drawing for some professionally done prints. Send an email to drawing.archivescans@gmail.com and you'll be entered in the drawing. For 3 lucky readers I'll have a print made from any book scan I've done and shipped to you (see comment for details). I'm going to accept entries till the end of the month so there's no great rush. Good luck!

Shoji Kawamori's Macross Design Works

This book is chock-full of Valkyrie art from all of Macross up to Macross M-3. About all of the art focuses on Valkyries save for a bit of art for the Zentreadi designs from SDF Macross. A great book for fans of Macross, mecha in general or even mechanical enthusiasts.

Valkyries Second Sortie - Art Works of Macross

This is a great book. The bulk of it is incredible paintings used as cover and presentation art for various Macross items or productions from the last few years.

New Books

I got a few new books in today: 'Tenjin Hidetaka - Valkyries Second Sortie', 'Variable Fighter Master File - VF-19 Excalabur' and 'Variable Fighter Master File - VF-1 Valkyrie (2nd book)'. These will give me stuff to scan for a while.

EDIT-
Got the raw scan of Valkyries completed and have started reprocessing, expect it tomorrow.

I've also started scanning Chocolate Gouache, likely will complete it in the next couple weeks.

Bioshock 2 - Collector's Edition

I was able to grab this at a clearance sale and was very surprised at the ammount of thought that went into this collector's edition. It's got an LP, CD, posters, artbook and the game all contained in a very well made box with the above picture on the cover.
I tried to be as complete as I could, just about everything that could be scanned is in the pack (save for a few bits I've omitted).
Although the game may not have quite made it to the same level as the first Bioshock this is still a great collection.

Nope, not dead

Sorry for the lag in updates, work has been unusually stressful the past few weeks. On the up side I have gotten all of my scanners replaced with newer models (B-Size is now an Epson expression 10000xl, A4-size is now an HP g4050, still waiting for the ADF's delivery), should make any future scans or re-scans much better.

I'm pretty much out of books right now, the only physical book left to scan is Chocolate Gouache (which I need to figure out how to scan) and I don't have much coming in from online right now. I guess this means re-scans will be given a higher priority until things pick back up.

Sorry for the wait

More Status

Got my new book, 'Chocolate Gouache', and its a great one. Two books (color and monochrome), a packet of 3 prints on something like 11x17" paper and a DVD showing how Choco does his art (still need to watch that). Unfortunately I'm unsure if I'll be able to scan these books since the pages are very, very thick (must be aroung 90 or 100g/m²). I'm worried that I'll lose too much of the page in the gutter side of the pages. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Status Update

I've got a new book on the way, it should be scanned in the next couple months. I'm sorry to say I won't be doing any book posts this weekend but I do hope to start up again next week. Once the book shows up I'll have a better idea of what's going to be happening.

Virtual-On Oratorio Tangram - Graphic Material Collection 'Matrix'

This is the first rescan I've done, I think it turned out fairly nicely. This booklet series was one of the first full book scans I did years ago (date-stamp shows late 2007).
This collection originally came in a cardstock slip cover which I lost years ago.

This booklet contains Temjin, Fei-Yen, Apharmd B and Dordray.

Oratorio Tangram - Graphic Material Collection 'Matrix' - Volume 1

In this one we have Cypher, Angelan, Apharmd S and Grys-Vok.

Oratorio Tangram - Graphic Material Collection 'Matrix' - Volume 2

This volume shows Raiden, the Bal series and Specineff.

Graphic Material Collection 'Matrix' - Volume 3

This one has a mix of VO-OT and VO-OM designs with different color schemes and some new weapons.
