Status, Site Useage Data

-UPDATE- An emergency test started at work, meaning I'll have to be working during the weekends for the next month or so. I'll try to get the next book out but don't put money on anything.

I found that I've been gathering data from Google Analytics for just over a year now, I though you all might want to see the data. we've currently got ~50gb of active content and the highest point on that topmost graph is 27 Feb, the day I posted Serial Experiments Lain - Illustrations.
(01 April 2010 is when I added the Analytics code to the site)

As to the books I've gotten a little distracted lately (picked up bookbinding, seems kinda funny now that I think about it) and haven't gotten as much done here as I would have liked.
I've got a copy of FSS Chronicles 2007 disassembled and ready for scanning but I need to fix my ADF for that one. I've also got another book that I've decided has waited long enough for the scanner, this one I should get done in the next few weeks.

Also; comments help run the site. It shows me what content you all favor, lets me know if things are broken and gives me motivation to keep this place running. The more comments the better!

...Except for requests. My policy from here on out is the only way I can/will fill a request is if the book is shipped to me.

Wow, sorry for the block of text. I'll try to get the book done soon.

thanks of yours scanned art books.

I like F.F.S.; Metal Gear Solid; Sci-Fi mechanic design, e.g. Homeworld, Ghost in the Shell S.A.C., 2nd G.I.G., S.O.S.; Jo Jo;...

I just stumbled across your site yesterday, and I want to say a HUGE thank you. This site is a treasure trove to anyone interested in commercial art and design (MYST DESIGN WORK?? PANZER DRAGOON??? YOU ARE AMAZING).

You've said that comments help you run the site, so here's one: it seems like a lot of the preview images in the older posts aren't appearing anymore. Almost everything on the 2009 and 2008 pages is missing, which makes it a bit difficult to decide if we should download a book, if we're not familiar with the source material.

Again, HUGE THANKS!

I'd removed the cover images when the new hosting was added and I started to repost them with a slightly different method. Basically 95% of the books that are missing covers are already reposted (just 1 folder I need to go through). Once that's all done I'm going to remove those posts.

I love the gundam and eva uploads, especially eva. I dropped bricks at the sight of panzer dragoon material :))))

Your site has been a great help in my addiction of collecting reference artbooks and mecha stuff. Your passion for archiving helps spread all the great artbooks to many. I am eager to see what else is to come.

I hope the best for you and this site.

Hi, glad you keep going, sometimes it can be stressing or even drepressing (I feel sad when you post some great artbook scans and nobody leaves a comment, I use to leave some posts then). So far, I am really grateful on what you're doing.

About my personal tastes, I like anything mechanical from the 80s, I think I have enough of gundam, and I don't like modern books with 3D renders; it's an anachronism: too modern content, over a too outdated media (paper) , it was much better when books were full of hand-drawn sketches.

Given that anime is shifting heavily to 3D, hand-made sketches is, to some degree, something of the past, which gives it even more value.

I just want to thank you for all your work on scanning. While I have personal favorites, I value this site for introducing me to many series I did not know about.

Thank you for your great Macross scans! I might have to ship an art book or two to you for scanning when you get your scanners working again.
Happy Easter! boinger

Thanks for everything you've done.
I'm just a filthy leeching basdard, but I assure you I posted a thanks comment on everything I took.

I don't know if this really "motivates" you, but I can tell you that my life sucks pretty much and it GREATLY cheers me up whenever I find some nice new scans posted here. :)

As for preference, I admit I'm not a huge mecha fan. I lve anything that has great character design with much detail + classics like NGE and such.

Again, thanks and keep doing a great job. Peace

Boinger- Just my ADF scanner is down, I've still got...uhh...3 flatbed scanners that work fine.

I just found out about this blog a few months ago and wanted to echo what everyone else has already said and thank you for the scans. Especially the scans of FSS and and Panzer Dragoon. What you doing is both awesome and very helpful for getting stuff that is either out of print due to things like age or limited print runs.

I agree about Yukikaze artbooks, it was a big find... the mechas of the series are amazing, but somehow, nothing came from Japan through the normal channels... then you released the scans and my jaw dropped!

It's amazing how some animes are given lots of attention, while others with great art are completely forgotten.

One of my all time wishies has been to find some mecha & character designs from Sol Bianca, specially the latter OVAs... I know there's low quality bits floating on the net, but it's a good example that confirms what I said before... how the heck this title didn't have any artbook or merchandise, nothing at all?

I like the Ghibli and videogame art books. The metal gear and ghibli storyboard ones were phenomenal.

I just want to thank you for running this blog and providing us with material that there's no other way we'd have access to (in my case, living in south america makes it almost impossible. We can always order them online, but the shipping and custom taxes costs are too high to just buy something "with a blind eye", without having seen a sample first with the help of scans).
Personally, I mainly download gundam related stuff, but I also like things like Votoms, Ideon,Eva and JoJo Bizarre (yeah, I know, the latter one is not precisely something too related to this site, but I might as well add it).
